In the midst of the great battle between Rustam (the mighty Iranian hero) and Afrasiyab (the great Turanian king), the demon Puladvand Div volunteers to fight against Rustam in exchange for half of Afrasiyab’s domain. Puladvand then challenges Rustam to a wrestling match. Clutching on to him like a lion, Rustam lifts Puladvand up by the waist, then smashes him down on the ground.
