See what fascinated Álvaro Siza, MC Escher, and countless other artists and architects! Learn about the Alhambra’s complex geometry, before making your own geometric composition in watercolour.

Instructor bio

Aneesa Patel is an Ontario Certified Teacher who graduated from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. While staying at home to raise three children, Aneesa rediscovered her passion for the visual arts, Islamic geometric art in particular. Since 2014, Aneesa has been teaching the Geometric Art Club at Gateway Public School and last year, she began leading geometric art workshops in TDSB schools. Aneesa is currently building a geometric art program for different grade levels (K-12) which make math-art connections.
