Light: Visionary Perspectives
Exhibition opening Summer 2024

Explore the centrality of light and its significance across cultures and contexts as a unifying symbol for the world.

Embark on an extraordinary journey, uncovering the hidden force that has shaped history and which continues to influence our perceptions, emotions, and understanding of each other and the world around us.

Marking the Museum's 10th anniversary, Light: Visionary Perspectives will dive into the omnipresence and impact of light, placing visitors at the centre of an immersive exhibition filled with contemporary installations by renowned artists including Anila Quayyum Agha, Ala Ebtekar, and Jamelie Hassan.

By harnessing light in a myriad of different ways, the varied and dynamic installations will challenge perceptions and provide space for reflection. The exhibition experience continues in the Museum Collections Gallery, where its themes are further explored. Set against the backdrop of the Aga Khan Museum's stunning architecture that was designed to showcase the interplay of light, shadow, and form, Light: Visionary Perspectives will invite you to rediscover the world through illuminating artworks that explore the boundless possibilities of light.
