Unleash Your Inner Artist

Don’t miss your chance to make the Museum your studio this February. To complement our exhibition The Museum as Studio: Kevork Mourad in Residence, we’ve set up art supplies in our atrium so you can unleash your inner artist. Draw, paint, or write about your vision of love, and your work will be displayed in the Museum for the month. You’ll also have the chance to take part in a community tapestry project with artist and weaver Hajar Moradi during her conceptual, narrative-based performance Interwoven.

February 1 – February 28 (free)
Make the Museum your studio and unleash your inner artist to create a work of art that will be on display throughout the month.

January 31 – February 24 (general admission)
Watch internationally acclaimed artist Kevork Mourad create a large-scale, immersive art installation from Jan. 31– Feb. 10. Then from Feb.13 – Feb. 24 step inside the completed piece.

February 13, 7 pm (free)
Enjoy a collaborative performance between painter Kevork Mourad, clarinetist Majd Sukar, and oud player Demetrios Petsalakis as they create art and music together on our auditorium stage.

February 18 – March 8 (free)
Share a story with artist Hajar Moradi and she’ll weave it into a Gabbeh — a rug that tells visual stories, traditionally made by the Indigenous women of Iran’s Bakhtiari tribe.
