Enjoy a special opportunity to engage with a theatre project in process!

Noor, a contemporary examination of Rumi and his muse, Shams, is a new work by young playwright Erum Khan about the navigation of identities here and now. It’s the story of the 17-year-old titular character’s journey through the end of adolescence, Islamic faith, and fraught relationships with friends and family. The production combines live music by renowned sitarist Anwar Khurshid and Toronto-based electronic duo LAL.

Observe the play in development and rehearsals taking place inside the Mongolian yurt in the Museum’s courtyard.

Through performance projects, Generous Friend seeks to create worlds that reflect the current and fluid social, political, and cultural landscape in Canada.
