Jamatkhanas in Canada: Architecture, Identity, Community
Social Hall | Saturday: 10 am–3 pm | Sunday: 10 am–4 pm
For more than 50 years, Ismaili Muslims in Canada have centred themselves around the jamatkhana. The jamatkhana, in addition to being a place for prayer, is a hub of communal gathering, conversation, and engagement.
Jamatkhanas in Canada: Architecture, Identity, Community, is a special photographic exhibition featuring photographs of 50 jamatkhanas across the country. The exhibition showcases the architecture, design, and contributions of Ismaili Muslims to Canada’s built environment along with projects such as the Global Centre for Pluralism, the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat and the Aga Khan Garden.
