Delve deeper into the Aga Khan Museum’s newest special exhibition on an exclusive tour with Curator Dr. Filiz Çakır Phillip.

Hidden Stories: Books Along the Silk Roads explores the history of the Silk Roads through the lens of one of humanity’s most cherished communication tools: the book. Featuring breathtaking scrolls, books, manuscript paintings, and textiles dating from as far back as the 9th century CE, this exhibition challenges viewers to think of the book as a revolutionary technology that shaped — not just documented — transformative moments in human history.

Taking place less than a week after the official opening of Hidden Stories, this Insight Tour is your chance to interact directly with one of the key players behind the exhibition. Dr. Çakır Phillip will reveal thrilling connections between the cultures represented in the exhibition, tracing the spread of art, commodities, and beliefs across the Silk Roads. She will also dig into the fascinating origins of this exhibition, which is comprised exclusively of objects from Ontario-based collections.

Only 10 spots are available for this tour, so don’t wait to reserve your tickets. For everyone's safety, masks are required inside the Museum, and physical-distancing measures will be in effect.
