Skate Girls of Kabul opens in Dubai, UAE on 20 March, 2018

Following rave reviews in Toronto, Skate Girls opened on 20 March, 2018 in Dubai in an exhibition hosted by the Ismaili Centre, Dubai in conjunction with Art Dubai 2018 and the Canadian Consulate in Dubai. Award-winning British photographer Jessica Fulford-Dobson travelled to Afghanistan in the summer of 2013 and the summer of 2014 to document young girls participating in a unique program called Skateistan — an international NGO founded in 2009 in Kabul, Afghanistan, to provide girls with a place to skate safely and a route into education. This exhibition displays over 20 photographs taken as part of her work.

The opening event featured a panel discussion including Jessica Fulford-Dobson, Karim Khoja (CEO of Roshan Telecom, the sponsor for Skateistan in Kabul) and Henry Kim (Director of the Aga Khan Museum). The exhibition runs until 31 March, 2018.
